Australia Migration

where to start and how to do it??

updated 20090623

visited the hign comm physically, get in and go to the reception, try to talk to the councilor, but was rejected by the receiption, they basically ask me to ask them all the queries of course first they will ask me to visit their website, i told them i already done that. Found out basically they did not handle most of the visa application especially for the skilled migration, there are 2 option, either i do it myself via the internet online application or via an agent. I asked why they don't do it, asnwer given was if they do it, then how will the agent survice, hence it is clearly that they are using the agent model and agent are mean to be there to serve and make their profit.

read australia high comm in malaysia here..

this is the Skill Occupation List (SOL)..can get the pdf here..

email reply from high comm..

If you are under 45 and have professional or skilled qualifications and employment experience you may be eligible for migration (permanent residence) - which would allow you to work. Further information about skilled migration and all application forms and migration booklets can be downloaded and printed, free of charge, from our website: http://www.immi.gov.au - you need Migration Booklet 6. here..

If you are interested in working temporarily in Australia you have to be nominated by an Australian employer who has need of your particular skills and expertise.

You can't just apply for a temporary work visa to live in Australia without having a specific position lined up. You might like to check our main website listed above and follow through on Visas and Immigration.

If you are under 31 (and a Malaysian citizen) you may be interested in a Working Holiday visa. The direct link to our website and in particular information on the Work and Holiday visa program is http://www.malaysia.highcommission.gov.au/klpr/visa_462.html

Joke

like this joke sent out by one of old girl friends..

1 - DON'T SLEEP WITH WATCH

Watches can emit a certain level of radioactivity. Though small, but if

you wear your watch to bed for a long time, it might have adverse effects

on your health.

2 - DON'T SLEEP WITH BRA

Scientists in America have discovered those that wear bras for more than

12 hours have a higher risk of getting breast cancer. So go to bed without

it.

3 - DON'T SLEEP WITH PHONE

Putting the phone beside your bed or anywhere near you is not encouraged.

Though some of us will use phones as alarm clocks, but please put the

phone as far as possible. Scientists have proved that electrical items

including mobile phone and television sets emit magnetic waves when used.

These waves can cause disruptions to our nervous system. Therefore if you

need to put your mo! bile phone near you, switch it off first.

4 - DON'T SLEEP WITH MAKE UP

People who sleep with make up might have skin problems in the long run.

Sleeping with make up will cause the skin to have difficulty in breathing

and problem in perspiring. You will also need a much longer time to go

into deep sleep.

Lastly.....

5 - DON'T SLEEP WITH OTHERS' WIFE / HUSBAND

You may never wake up again. :

Saudi

Not sure how true is this...need to further investigate..

I spent 6 months in Saudi. Its actually not that bad and depends largely on where you stay. Its a good experience for 6-12 months and a good way to make money but not worth it for long periods.

If you stay in Khobar, its less restricted than an area like Jubayl for example and women in Khobar often walk around unveiled.

I spent time in Jubayl where you live in compounds which are pretty self sustained. I.e. gyms, swimming pools, canteens etc.

Money is a bit strange as it depends on where you come from. For example, Indians and Pakstani's workers will often only get paid $200/month whilst europeans, south africans, australians and americans are the highest on the pay chain commanding salaries of US$1000/day upwards. The lower level workers will also only 1 month off every two years, no weekends off etc, whilst westerners work a 5 day or 6 day week depending on your contract arrangements. Racist? Very! They even have a pecking order at the airport if you fly directly into Saudi (as opposed to going in via Bahrain over the bridge) so they'll help saudi's first, then westerners, then indians etc

From a danger perspective, they have had minimal murders from extremists over the last 15 years. The Saudi government does a good job of protecting westerners because they know they can't afford to lose them and the overall chances of dying are lower than most high risk cities in the US for example. The biggest danger you are likely to encounter is driving on their roads. The road safety system is a shambles with drivers overtaking in emergency lanes, driving at speeds in excess of 180km's/h and having to contend with people changing 3 lanes of traffic to do a u-turn at the traffic light without warning...it really is that bad. Saudi has the highest accident rate in the world.

Other than that, good experience, hot, dry but liveable for quick money.

Green Water

was away for a trip in penang and when back home my fish pond water become green like this..

when was in penang, ask one big fish shop in jalan burma, talking about using UV light, not cheap, these make in germany or europe, cost about 800, with warranty of one year, and these from china, no warrantly and about 200RM..but my fish pond not design for UV light, hence some piping need to be done at the 3rd chamber for the water to run thru the UV light before it go up the water fall...

now you see the clear water..don't even need the UV light, lucky did not get con by the fish shop guy..just need to make sure the water circulation is good then clear water should not be problem..i testes this by on the pump 24 hours and second test is off the pump at night..look like i need to on the pump 24 hours...will see the TNB bill soon..
